Donation Information

Donations of any size are welcome and your contributions are tax deductible. Donations are not ear-marked for specific veterans, rather all donations serve waiting list veterans on a first-come, first-serve basis.

To insure that area donations sponsor local veterans, Honor Flight Birmingham has affiliated with American Legion Department of Alabama and is now a program of this 501c.19 charitable organization. Please make checks or money orders payable to:

Flight Sponsorship

With a donation of $15,000, businesses and individuals can sponsor a group flight of 35 veterans and 19 guardians (guardians donate to cover their own expenses). Veteran - guardian ratio is subject to adjustment based on the health status of the veterans. Sponsorship of a flight entitles the contributor(s) to the following:

1) Representatives of the sponsor organization are welcome to attend the flight send off and will be recognized to the veterans and the press in attendance.

2) Two (2) members of the sponsor organization can go on the flight as guardians ( subject to application approval).

3) The sponsor organization is welcome to provide literature about their organization, which will be included in care packages provided to the veterans at the beginning of the flight.

4) The sponsor organization can conduct the "Welcome Home" Ceremony.

5) The sponsor organization will be included in all advertising and publicity of the sponsored flight and will be included on the Honor Flight network's Website as well as Honor Flight Birmingham’s website.
